The demand for alternative sources of energy is increasing rapidly. Centuriesold wind energy in its modern incarnation is a promising growth market. Wind turbines are technically very interesting meetings of elements and structures. They are exposed to adverse weather conditions, often with their bases submerged in water. The principal development being their increasing size. On land, out to sea and in the air. This requires larger diameter piles. IHC Hydrohammer® develops equipment to meet any demand. In the spring of 2008, IHC Engineering Business delivered a 7000 ton capacity carousel system to Ocean team for offshore wind farm use. More recently EB completed a fast track upgrade of a basket carousel for the Subocean group. The storage capacity of the carousel was increased by over 50% to 900 tons and this project was completed in three months.

2004, Kval Sound Fjord, Norway. IHC Lagersmit delivers a tailor made SUPREME seal TG to fit a Tidal Turbine prototype. The challenge: design a seal to be maintenance free for at least 3 years. In 2008 it was time to evaluate. After four years of delivering green energy to the town Hammerfest, the seal showed results beyond expectations:

• No exceeding of temperature of the lip seals
• No water was found ingress
• No signs of corrosion on the liner
