IHC Merwede is not only an excellent supplier of customised, sophisticated, efficient, large or heavy duty dredgers, but also of simple, robust and inexpensive dredgers for the more basic dredging jobs. IHC Merwede dredgers are not exclusively sold to the top end ofthe market. During the greater part of acentury, customers of all kinds have bought IHC Merwede trailing suction hopper dredgers and cutter suction dredgers of all sizes and classes for every dredging job imaginable (figure 2):

• very small standardised IHC Beaver® dredgers – and also larger versions (figure 3),
• tough medium-class cutter suction dredgers with well-known names and, of course,
• the very large heavy-duty dredgers, self-propelling or not.
