Historical development: position monitoring

As a leading producer of hydraulic dredgers, which are dredgers that apply pumping power to transport sediment, IHC Merwede has also an eye for excavators, dredging equipment that transports sediment by digging and
mechanical movement (figure 1). Business units in the Technology &
Services cluster work on this kind of dredgers on occasion, but one of them
– IHC Systems – has been active in the top-end application of excavators in dredging projects for decades, with a track record that goes right back to its historical predecessors.
