Cutter-suction dredgers of the IHC Beaver type are versatile tools for dredging all over the world in different conditions. They cover a range of dredging depths, production figures and installed power, and can be equipped with either cutter heads or dredging wheels. They are known for their robust construction, reliable operation and excellent performance. The smaller types are built in modular form. One main pontoon facilitates the cutter ladder, the ladder actuator rams or winches, the control cabin, dredge pump, diesel engines and auxiliary power units, the discharge line and the spuds with their actuator rams. Other features are the compact dredge pump drive, incorporating a reduction gear with integrated pump bearing, and a freshwater engine cooling system based on the well cooling principle. Two side pontoons provide buoyancy and storage space. They are connected to the main pontoon with a quick connectiondisconnection system. All parts are dimensioned in such a way that the dredgers can be easily transported by road, rail or sea.
