From commodities to added value
After the well-known recent mergers in the heavy steel industry, German steelmakers ThyssenKrupp AG with their nearly 200,000 employees worldwide and annual revenues of approximately 47 billion Euro, had to invest significantly in order to meet the new standards.

At the other side of the globe, having survived the economic and domestic shocks of 2001-2003 without sincere collapse, Brazil is hard-working to create a better life for their 190 million people who earn an estimated annual € 6,500 at average. One attempt to enhance Brazilian standard of life involves trying to make profit out of the growing demand on iron ore, driven by current world economic growth, especially in countries as India and China. Brazil is one of the so-called BRIC countries, containing enormous natural resources.
